How I was Diagnosed
I was initially diagnosed with Lyme Disease in April 2017 by a naturopathic doctor after 2 months of analyzing intricate lab tests. She took the time to do a wide variety of testing and examined the results alongside my symptom list, both mental and physical.
There are various accuracy problems with today’s conventional Lyme testing. Traditional doctors follow CDC-approved testing, which results depend on a certain number of antibodies being present in the body. The test also relies on blood, and if Lyme has been in your system for awhile, the infection has long left your bloodstream and traveled to your muscles, bones, and tissue. The longer you’ve had Lyme, or any infection for that matter, the deeper it burrows itself and the least likely you are to test positive. In most cases, the diagnosis of chronic Lyme Disease requires a Lyme-literate doctor, whether it’s a Lyme-literate naturopathic or medical doctor, to look beyond the black and white of lab results. Lyme presents differently in everyone, so it can be difficult to diagnose.
For the remainder of my infections including Strep/PANDAS, 8 co-infections, Epstein-Barr, metal toxicity, and others, I was diagnosed and treated using Lyme Magnetic Protocol Therapy. This treatment could detect exactly which invaders my body had and how much. Magnetic Therapy saved my life and I can’t say enough great things about it.
Besides Lyme Magnetic Protocol Therapy, which was most effective for me, my treatment was a combination of holistic remedies. I always say there's no one cure for Lyme, or any condition for that matter. My holistic-based approach treatment consisted of many things, but the four main elements were: diet (gluten/grain/dairy free), regular blood work to monitor supplements, clinical hypnosis, and of course Magnetic Therapy, which I underwent for over 17 months.
Lyme Disease leaves a path of destruction, even after it's left the body. Though I no longer carry the infection, the aftermath is very real. Post Lyme clearing, I have dealt with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), hypothyroidism with excessive bloat and unnecessary weight gain, gut repairing, and symptoms of pathological CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy). In my recovery, I've used EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS), hypnosis, supplements, yoga, essential oils, and more. I also had a SPECT Brain scan done at the Amen Clinic in NYC to determine how my brain fared from developing with multiple infections from ages 3 to 15. Healing takes a monumental effort, but I know with confidence that a full recovery is possible.
Keep in Mind
Alternative medicine is misunderstood. An open mind is needed, and that is necessary for most people who are desperate for answers. Traditional doctors tried to help me by addressing each individual symptom separately, whereas my holistic team dug for the root cause of the problem and looked at the whole picture, which I found incredibly logical and effective. Even if you're not in critical condition now, small, unresolved issues may lead to big ones in the future. We all deserve an ideally functioning body.
I was told I had to live with my symptoms forever. I’m living proof that’s not always the case. With every symptom, ask why. "What is causing my body to act this way? Why is my brain exhibiting these symptoms?" There's always a reason and it's easy to blame events going on in our life. Fight for the root cause, even when traditional doctors tell you otherwise. Don’t underestimate holistic medicine because there is a reason your body is reacting a certain way, and there is hope.
